Ten Sushi on Avenue C.

If you're looking for the freshest fish at an affordable price in a pleasant environment you'll be severely disappointed in Ten Sushi on Ave. C.

This is an uncomfortable place with tiny, public school cafeteria chairs and St. Germain blaring on the stereo. The chefs are supposed to be ex-London Nobu workers so it's got some sort of pedigree not evidenced in the cold food we had. A seaweed salad was .05% seaweed and 99.95% grated raw root vegetable. The nigiri sushi was fine but unexciting. The maki weren't cut that well and the nori was tough. Overall it was just not that pleasant and dinner was overpriced for what it was. The servers were pretty amateurish too. They were totally undone by our order of green tea. They acted like we were the first to ever order it and required a commitee to make two cups of it. They even charged us 2 dollars a cup for every cup of tea and each refill until we complained. Needless to say I won't be returning. You can do a lot better nearby at Hasaki.
