Tempura pot with non-splatter rim?

Or deep-fryer died a while ago. Of course, now we are lusting for tempura. I've done it in the wok, but it was a mess. We do some other wet fried stuff, too, so a stovetop pot (good for induction for when we get a "burner") sounds good. I saw this on Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/Deep-Fryer-T... Of course, it was down to $12 in July when I wasn't looking for one. I have some SS pots that would work, but I like the idea of the rim.

Have you tried this? Can I get the rim by itself?
