I read the review in the latest Washingtonian this morning, and recognized the menu right away. I checked the Chowhound Board and found confirmation that this is where the chef from China Star has landed.
I met a friend there for a little snack this afternoon. We weren't very hungry, so just had the Scallion Pancakes, the Fried Ground Fish Roll with Cilantro, and Baby Wontons with Chili Oil Sauce. Just as wonderful as I remembered!
The place is tiny--much smaller than CS. Every dish I saw go by our table tempted me. It all looked great. The "Chinese Menu" is about 3 pages long (88 items), and I recognize a lot of the dishes from previously studying the CS menu.
I can't wait to go back for more!
