Two Temescal tastings

I had the occassion this week to try La Cacola Loca
and Bake Sale Betty's.

I had a carnitas special burrito at Cacola. It was rather bland in taste and I really wanted to like this place. They do use Niman Ranch but that's about the most memorable thing about the burrito. Taco sauce seemed lackluster and didn't do much to liven up the burrito.

Bake Sale Betty's was another experience: I had the fried chicken sandwich which pretty much made me feel that I had died and gone to heaven. It's a filet of chicken fried then served on an acme roll with a cole slaw of cabbage, parsley, jalapeno, red onion and oil and vinegar. I'll try to pace myself here but I can't wait to go back and have the same thing all over again.
