Tecolote which was a longtime Santa Fe breakfast and lunch favorite has finally re-opened

And, it was worth the wait. Menu looks to be the same as it was when it closed.

They closed when the landlord refused to renew their lease. He tore down the falling apart building and subsequently sold half of the real estate to Taco Bell. The other half of the real estate is weed- covered now with real estate signs saying it is for sale.

The new Tecolote is in a large strip shopping area on the south side of St. Michael's Drive just east of Cerrillos Road.

Food was good as I remember (omelet for me, corned beef hash with scrambled eggs for my wife).

Some of the old staff was there. Today was only their second day open but the place was packed with people, all of whom knew each other from the old place. Thank goodness there is ample parking !
