Teak cutting boards really bad for knives?

johnnyscience | Apr 12, 201605:57 PM

I want to get a high quality cutting board and really want to get a teak board after doing some research on them.

I've seen most places say they are great, but then other cutting board makers say that because of the silica they're not good for knives and will dull them.

So is there truth behind this or just a cutting board maker trying to push they're ridiculously expensive boards?

For what it's worth, leaning towards Wusthof Ikon knives
