Yesterday the "Grand Opening" banner drew me into Mr & Mrs Teahouse (544 Clement St, SF). This tiny storefront has but three stools at the side counter.

First thing on the menu board that caught my eye was the Snow Ice offering, not too common in the City. However, I needed a hot beverage on this chilly day. I asked if taro was fresh or powder. The lady at the counter said that the fresh milk tea item used fresh taro --- sold!

Moderately sweet and filled with chunky bits of fresh taro, this milk tea had more depth and complexity than typical. It tasted like a higher grade of black tea might be used here. Next time I'll pay attention before dashing.
