Teahouse that did not make the cut in the South Bay

Per Melanie's request I am posting about the teahousees I dropped from the tasting. Tanspace will post on the ones he dropped.

The South Bay Team did not do pre selection of teahouses tasting. We felt that we already had a handle which teahouses we wanted to represent the South Bay.

There is a very large number of teahouses in the South Bay. Most are in newer buildings and have free parking. For the most part they are good, otherwise they do not last long in the South Bay there are so many Asian place for us to select.

These were a few that I dropped, they were bad but they were not top of the line.

Mayflower in Milpitas, this was at one time the very best the South Bay had to offer. Now it is just good, not one that I would want to show off at the tasting. Four years ago they were doing and showing new Hong Kong dim sum that type if dim sum was new to the States. Now they are just one of many dim sum teahouses in the South Bay. A place that is still good but not a standout.

Ming’s in San Jose, another good but not outstanding dim sum teahouse. This place is much better at dinner and for large parties.

Bamboo Garden in Sunnyvale, I drop this one because the first two times I was there the service was not good and being new they did not have their act together. It may be better now but it was not ready to take place in the taste off. The dim sum arrive cold and the service was slow. It is worth a try because I have heard good things about it. This one was not selected for the same reason Louie's in San Francisco was not selected. It being too new.

At a later date I will list a couple of super low end dim sum take out place almost as cheap as the low end places in San Francisco.
