Has anyone been to the new one at the U of M? I went there two weeks ago. Very nice decor, although the dishes are similar - with one exception.
They had soup dumplings. Little steamed dumplings about the size of a giant strawberry. You bite into the skin and a gush of delicious soup hits your mouth. Absolutely delicious. They just introduced this dish and the hostess said it will be added to the menu at their western location soon.
My wife went with a friend and was told that they are introducing a complete Shanghai style breakfast. Soup dumplings, hot soy milk, toasted sesame bun wrapped around fried dough. As far as I can tell, this would be pretty much the only place in the Midwest with this type of food.
