A place in phx makes a great Mt Gay jasmine-lemongrass infused rum cocktail and that got me thinking to try that at home (and i bought way to much tea at Teavana) so that has gotten me thinking about infusing some rum with other types of tea
How long should the tea be steeping in room tempurature alcohol? Would it be better to infuse the simple syrup vs the liquor since the heat of the simple syrup would open up the flavors and buds of the tea leafs more effectivly?
I am assuming only silver rums would work well with an infuse, but certainly open to suggestions of people experience's with infusing tea and liquor
I normally have Cruzan silver rum as a staple, not sure what Mt Gay brings to the table if anything once you are infusing other flavors into the rum
