Tea House In Oakland on Broadway-review

Roxie | Jul 2, 200510:41 PM

While looking for a suitable restaurant for a rehersal dinner we required several things; parking, Chinese food, a special room or area for about 20 guests and walking distance from Jack London Square in Oakland. We found a new restaurant next to Everett and Jones on Broadway just off Highway 880. We ate our way through the menu deciding what to include for this dinner for mostly out of town guests. Serving a yummy Dim Sum during lunch hour the management added a few items to their dinner men just for us: baked pork buns, shrimp har gow and their usual vegetable egg rolls. The courses just kept rolling inn. Most of our guests were staying a a suite hotel, the Hawthorne Inn and Suites, in Alameda on Webster street, just a short drive away so everyone took home leftovers. Last night we returned and tried the shredded beef with leeks, pork and shrimp fried rice, meat egg rolls and a very fine prawn in lobster sauce. The ingrients are always fresh and the shrimp big. The Tea House has such an accomodating staff who are quick to top off my water glass and change plates between courses.
