We went to lunch yesterday at Tea House 2 (east of downtown St. Paul on I-94, White Bear exit, south frontage road to the west in a strip mall). It was a pleasant surprise to find they now serve dim sum on weekends.
Besides our usual order of mini-juicy buns, chung king chicken, ma po tofu (best in I'ved tried in the twin cities) and such, we noticed the new dim sum menu. I asked if it was made fresh in-house or from frozen packages, they claimed fresh in-house.
They have some really interesting stuff on their dim-sum menu. Cheng-du Vermicelli with slices of pork and a vinegary/peppery sauce was delicious. Pork-riblets were good too. The steamed and fried pork buns were interesting as well. We didn't get to some of the usual suspects like the Shu Mai because we lacked the gastro-intestinal capacity.
