My friend has offered me a kombucha scoby to brew my own kombucha at home. I usually do not drink black tea, but have tons of Chinese tea at home. I did some research and found that oolong tea is suitable for kombucha (http://www.culturesforhealth.com/komb...), so I am planning to start my kombucha with oolong tea, but am wondering if other Chinese teas can also be used. Does anyone know if ti kuan yin tea, or pu-erh tea, or other teas can be used to brew kombucha?
