TC Choy's dim sum in Tampa

Coyote | Mar 15, 2003 12:32 PM

It is as good as everyone who mentioned it on this board said it is. Sparkly clean restaurant with great urban cool decor, good service, nice selection of dim sum choices in the carts. Especially loved the pork and ginger dumplings, the seafood and cilantro dumplings, wonderfully fresh shrimp dumplings, shu mai, pork buns, egg rolls. Not one of seven dishes made me say next time I'd pass on that and try something else. The egg custard tarts had a more buttery shortbread like crust than others I've had, but even that was a pleasant change.

It was marginally more expensive than a typical big city Chinatown experience, but no complaints. $26 for two, with tea, plus tip.

301 S. Howard Ave., Tampa. 813 251 1191. Free parking.
