This sounds very generous, and worth supporting.
Copied from the Taza emailing:
The March 11 earthquake and tsunami devastated vast areas of Japan, leaving hundreds of thousands of people in need of shelter, medical care, and physical and emotional support. The relief and recovery effort is enormous and will continue for a very long time.
Taza Chocolate will donate 50% of all retail sales from March 24-31 to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief effort.
That's half of the total sales from our online store, Factory Store, and the Somerville Winter Farmers' Market. On Friday April 1st, we will report the total amount of our donation on our blog, Facebook page and Twitter feed. You do not need a code or anything else to participate. If you make a purchase from March 24-31, it will automatically be counted and 50% of its value will be donated.
If you don't currently need or want chocolate, please consider donating directly to Red Cross here.
