Once again I had a terrible experience at Tavern Grill. I had forgotten what a disappointment it was the last time, got lazy (didn't want to cook) and went there for a late Saturday night dinner.
My companion ordered a burger that when it arrived and he flipped open the bun had been jaggedly cut in two pieces, no tomato and a piece of lettuce so wilted that it stuck to the burger. When we spoke to the waiter about the slice of tomato (which the menu indicated as being part of the burger) he rolled his eyes and left. He never brought back a slice of tomato. This was important to my companion because he doesn't use ketchup so having a slice of tomato to moisten the burger was of the essence.
I ordered seafood and it was not served with lemon slices. There was so much breading on the shrimp that the shrimp looked like they had been exposed to radiation. Then you bite into it and you see a little shrimp inside. Not good.
Right after the new Tavern Grill (previously Teakwoods) was taken over by the new owners I really liked the quality of the food, new dessert offering s and the overall atmosphere. The new owner and his wife came around to the tables asking how everything was. I didn't expect them to do this all the time but it was nice. As time went on, I noticed that the quality of the food and the service continued to deteriorate. And last night was the final disappointment at the poor quality of food and service. I am disappointed with myself for allowing my partner to eat a burger that looked like it had come from somebody else's leftovers (pieces of burger put together). We should have walked out and never looked back. I do not recommend anyone exposing themselves to such poor quality of product and service.
