I'm looking to try something different this Thanksgiving--i.e., not going with the usual "free turkey" deal from the grocery store.
what kind of turkey should i look for? male/female? young/mature? free-range/farm fed? frozen/non-frozen? i don't know what the differences are in regards to flavor/texture for these types, so fill me in!
i'm looking for something that doesn't require too much extra fancy cooking to taste tender, flavorul, and juicy. (trying to keep the fat to a minimum for some family people).
any suggestions would be helpful.
