Tasty Travails: In California, A is For...Carciofi

mitchleeny | Apr 1, 201501:57 PM     13

We recently spent 4 nights in San Francisco for some celebrating.

Had good meals (even really good meals) at The Progress, Kin Khao, Trou Normand, and Cockscomb. And Swan. And Plow.

It's the height of artichoke season, and one day we took a drive down the coast, to a little town called Pescadero, where Duarte's Tavern has been located for over 100 years. They're famous for their cream of artichoke soup, among other goodies.

And it didn't disappoint. Nor did the drive down the coast, which is beautiful and at times even a little scary, especially on a quite foggy day.

I even took the liberty of writing a bit about the artichoke.
