Last night, blogger Katie Parla hosted an event at Frankies 570 as part of a tour for the release of her fabulous new book, Tasting Rome. The 4-course meal consisted of:
Verdure alla Scapece (roasted & marinated vegetables)
Spaghetti alla Gricia (guanciale, pecorino Romano & black pepper)
Agnello Arrosto (lamb loin, fava beans & young pecorino)
Albichoce (apricots, almonds mascarpone)
The meal was wonderful (especially the gricia). It was all inspired by the recipes in the book. Katie spent time with everyone signing books and more importantly chatting. She's a lovely young woman with a wealth of knowledge about food & history, especially when it comes to Rome. She is doing one more event in NYC and it is at Maialino. I suggest that if you are into Italian food (especially Roman dishes) and like to talk food, check out this event.
