What are the best places to eat in or near Ocean City or Assateague State Park, Maryland? Any type, low and high end.
I will be staying at Assateague State Park for a few days and have heard the restaurant situation needs careful attention so you don't get stuck in the tourist joints.
Some places mentioned in posts on this board over the past several years are:
"DiFebo's in Bethany Beach, DE. Some of the best Italian you'll have anywhere, let alone at the beach. About 10 mins. from the MD/DE line, a mile inland on Rt. 26. Reservations a must in season and on weekends."
"Try this place. It has above average food:
Fausto's Italian Restaurant
11604 Coastal Highway"
"Although not real close, here's the best restaurant in the Ocean City area. It's in Bishopville (about three miles over the Route 90 bridge). The caveat, the place only has six tables and two seatings a night. They don't take credit cards, and if you want a table, especially on a weekend, start dialing. I've asked people who have lived in Ocean City for years, and they've never heard of it, so that answers your question about tourists. They have zero interest in appealing to the masses. You'll be more than pleased."
St Martin's Neck Rd
"Gee,why did you let out the secret about the Grove? seriously, though, its great!!!
P.S. I am a local."
"Finally, again, this one isn't close, but it's very good. Not sure if you like cocktails, but the martinis here are weapons grade.
Tutti Gusti's for Italian.
Located on Ocean Highway at the 33rd St. Shopping Plaza, Ocean Side.
"Pasta Paoli on 117th Street. It is year round and family owned.
We were there last week for a conference ate there, Good size portions with quality food."
