Taste of Thai Yai (Apple Valley)

I think this place spun off from a branch of Taste of Thailand in 2009 or so. Anyway, friends in the area have recommended it for a while and we finally went this past weekend. Results were somewhat meh. Some things were better than expected (papaya salad, larb), some were worse (terrible Thai sausages) but nothing rose above the "acceptable" level. Not out of the question if you're in the area and jonesing for Thai but--or, let's face it: jonesing for decent food of any kind in Apple Valley---but nothing to get very excited about.

The chef/owner is Burmese. He told me they make Burmese food for the staff but don't serve it. As to whether this is because an original agreement still holds that he would not change the menu, I don't know.
