I saw this restaurant mentioned in another thread about favorite dives in Philly. Well, it is just terrific. Located in the NE in a non descript strip mall, it isn't really a dive. More of an unpretentious place that serves amazing food. We had the most terrific mussel appetizer served in a pot with a fantastic tomato sauce with garlic, peppers, and onions. Then garlicky short ribs and another pot of a seafood dish filled with lobster, shrimp and clams. For dessert the flan was one of the best I've ever had. We were glad we made the trip. My husband said that this was the best Portuguese food he's ever had in Philly and pretty close to what he's had in Newark. Sometimes you just want a great meal and not to deal with "the scene". This is the place. We were warmly welcomed and the service was great. We'll be back. Thanks for telling us about it!
