Taste of India--Buttonwillow off of the 5

On a recent trip from LA to SF, my boyfriend & I stopped at Taste of India, figuring it had to be better than Dennys. The restaurant is right off of the 5, and it has a big room, with a view of the charming Homeland Motel accross the street.
On the advice of another diner, the two of us split a lunch special. We got the chicken lunch, which was *huge* 4 pieces of tandori chicken, dal, rice and nan. And a soda. For $12, this was a great deal. I would have ordered raita if I had known the lunch special didn't come with it, but oh well. We also split an order of samosas, which were large and tasty. They also have a vegetarian lunch special for about $10.
This is in no way the best Indian food, but we felt it was a good value for the money, and a welcome change from the usual I-5 fare.
It's a family run place, and the owner seemed very kind and genuinely interested in how we liked our food.
