Taste of the Himalayas in Albuquerque

sandiasingh | Nov 11, 2015 08:53 AM

We celebrated Diwali last night at Taste of the Himalayas on North Fourth Street in Los Ranchos (Albuquerque) and it was excellent; in fact, some of the best Northern Indian food we have had since leaving SE Asia. It is located where Annapurna used to be (they moved further south on Fourth).

The restaurant's decor is contemporary and open, service was very good and they have a huge menu (although they were out of lamb). We had samosa, aloo tikki, tandoori shrimp, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, maki dal (wow!), raita and a variety of naan including scallion and rosemary. They serve a few selections of wine and beer.

There were very few diners, especially at this holiday time, and we were surprised to learn they have been open for 1 1/2 years. We will definitely go back.
