I love Tartine bread. I'm a marketing person by day and Tartine is starting to work my last bread nerve.
Last week (if my memory is correct) I went in for bread about 1:00ish. There was no bread available, wouldn't be that day or for the next week as the baker was on vacation. Huh?
How does a bakery get away with this bit of unreliability in service? If I can't go into a bakery and know with a bit of confidence that I can come out with a loaf of bread every time wouldn't any owner be concerned that over time I wouldn't patronize them?
We swim in good bread in this City after all.
