Hey, this is my first post. I already feel like I've found home. I've been a regular for Dim Sum on Sundays at the Sweet-n-Tart restaurant at 20 Mott Street. Tacky name, but pretty decent Dim Sum. The real hidden treasure was for dessert they offered an array of custard like puddings. Taro pudding with sweet red beans on the bottom was the winner. It was very light purple in color, not gritty, but smooth and perfectly custard like. It was heavenly. They abruptly stoppped making it with no proper explanation other than "it's out of season." Well, it's been over a year and still no taro pudding. I've not been able to find it anywhere else down in China Town. Has anyone had it or found this little dessert gem elsewhere in Manhattan or the outer boroughs?
