Just a brief post here, but first wanted to thank Italophile and others for recommending the sea urchin pasta at Taranta. We loved how the briny spicy flavours came together in this dish of spaghetti, how nicely the richness carried the spiciness.
I loved the first smell of pancetta when the parchment paper was opened to reveal the baked fusilli dish. Also prominent were bright chunks of tomato, ripe and solid.
The pappardelle with porcini and wild mushrooms was also great.
Baby octopus, clams, cuttlefish and chickpeas worked really well together in a fairly rich tomato sauce tweaked to a good level of heat. A great appetizer.
All in all a good and reasonably priced meal.
