If you haven't gone...go now!
This is an old dive bar renovated into the food goodness haven it is now. A real live Mom and Pop run the place, with their daughters at the tables, and sons in the kitchen. The food is authentic, none of that TexMex or conveyer belt stuff here. The place is almost worth the fact that upon sitting, two kinds of salsa are presented with chips; one chunky hot, one smooth hotter. The entree and single item list is long, so take your time with the menu. All portions are more than satisfying in size.
I'm a creature of habit when it comes to good food, so I can highly reccomend the Enchiladas de Carne and the Tacos Canasta. The Presidente plate comes with a FANTASTIC (note: BEST I HAVE HAD THIS SIDE OF THE YUCATAN) chili relleno (I know I'm spelling that wrong). Desserts are limited (rice pudding and flan), but equally as tasty. The staff has never rushed us, always allowing us to take our time with the meal, no matter the customer wait. I've never left feeling the slightest bit hungry or broke.
Prices are low low low...around $15 will more than stuff a person (including appetizer, entree, dessert, drinks).
Don't miss the shakes!!! Melon, Strawberry, Banana, Pineapple, Mango!! YUMMY! And topped with cinnamon, can you beat that?!
They serve breakfast as well, but I haven't tried that yet...
