Had a fortuitous little snack today off Rt 5 in Wallingford, when we decided that Taqueria Mexico looked worth a try. Out in the middle of pretty much nowhere, but they had some pretty tasty tacos. $1/small soft taco, I got the carne asada and the chorizo, the SO asked for and got beans-only (not listed on the menu), and we split a tamarind Jarritos (a requirement for *any* Mexican place to be accepted in my book).
Quite good, and probably because the tacos were nice and simple. Nothing but meat, onions, scallions, and cilantro. Good salsa to go with them also, both roja and verde. The only other items listed on the menu are burritos and tortas, and we'll try them next time we go back.
Finally, they had a selection of sweets under plastic that we didn't try, but that looked worth a try.
(We found later that they got a good writeup in the Advocate May 2003, but don't hold that against them, especially since the reviewer didn't know a molcajete when he saw one.)
