Taqueria Guadalajara (E. 14th in San Leandro)

Wandered into Taqueria Guadalajara yesterday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. for a late lunch. It was packed, with the order line snaking out the door. I ordered a chile verde taco and a chorizo taco ($1.25 each). You take a number and sit down. Promptly a waitstaff brings chips and salsa--salsa chunky with veggies and the flavor spicy but not fiery.

The chorizo taco was good-- the sausage meat crumbly and not oily. Flavorful, too. The chile verde wasn't bad, just not a whole lot of taste. The tomatillo salsa just didn't pack a lot of UMPH. Tortillas not handmade.

I was at T.G. last week and ordered the carnitas taco and a chicken sope ($1.50). Both pretty good, but not outstanding.

Overall, many taco trucks are better in the area, but the place is clean and the staff friendly.
