new tapioca place in SF chinatown

felice | Jan 6, 200403:11 PM

Tried the new place on the corner of stockton and pacific. They've been open for about a month or two. I had the lychee tapioca ($2.25) and the tapioca balls were very undercooked. These were the second worst ones I've had, the worst ones being from a place that is closed now - they were so overcooked they disintegrated in my mouth.

The lychee juice, however, was very good. Instead of being made from powder, the juice was made from canned lychees. You have a choice of ordering the drink with two different jellies, so I would go with that next time.

They also have little snacks, I think they call them egg puffs. I tried some in LA recently and found they taste like Nilla Wafers and have a texture similar to waffles, maybe a little softer/chewier.
