Returned last night after our delicious dinner in the Club Room almost 11 months last ago. I sort of get the feeling that this restaurant sort of flies a bit under the radar as I have two of the better meals I have ever had in Boston here. Last night 3 of us arrived around 6:20 (the Red Sox game ended around 5 so this worked out good for us because most of the game traffic was long gone). Apparently, on Sunday evenings the Club Room is closed so we had to eat in the Expo Kitchen but we had both the Club Room menu available as well as the Neopolitan pizzas. Despite the Red Sox game having recently ended, there was only another four top inside the restaurant and probably 2 tables full on the patio. Three of us split a Neopolitan pizza with Sausage and Ramps which was one of the better pizzas I have had in Boston, perfectly charred thin crust and excellent toppings. Next we had the Roasted Cauliflower with Manchego Cheese and a Caper Yogurt which we all loved and devoured. Next we were brought a complimentary small plate of Calamari which was prepared in a different way than I have ever had Calamari and I wish I could describe it other than to say it had a nice little kick to it and it was not fried but it, too, was excellent. We then split two pastas, Bigoli Pasta with Spinach and Artichoke and Pasta with fresh cams and lobster roe butter. I don’t think any of us loved the Bigoli Pasta dish but the other pasta dish was delicious. All and all, the cost was about $110 with a glass of wine, a cocktail and an iced tea, I think quite reasonable for the quality and creativity. I have seen complaints about portions size but most of the menu items are meant to be shared so that each person gets a little taste. For us, they were very satisfying portion sizes. In addition, the service was very good, despite the waitress being fairly new and inexperienced but she was very nice and friendly. I hope that people soon discover how good this restaurant is; otherwise, we could lose this “gem”.
