Tank Pho moved down the street from it's original small storefront on Argyle, to the corner of Broadway/Argyle, where there used to be a Chinese restaurant with zero customers-
ended up there last night- thought at first it was just another restaurant w Tank name, just like Pho 777, Pho 888, Pho 999, Pho 867-5309......
it was a madhouse last night...they must have rounded up the family tree as it seemed like 30+ servers and bussers ranging in age from 6 to 60...never had the same server twice!!!
and very slow.....working out the new location kinks, plus it's about 3x the size of the old locale...
about 20 minutes after I ordered my marinated chicken, they came by to tell me they had no rice!! I re-ordered a rice noodle dish w meatball, bar-b-q pork (which wasn't bar-b-qed- just chunks!!) crabmeat, a shrimp and what looked like a quail egg, and came w broth on the side...was delicious though, except
for a couple stray pieces of bone ( from what animal I can't be sure)....g-friend had stir fry veggies w thick rice noodles which were delish too
Still one of the best on Argyle- also tried Hai Yen on argyle recently and very impressed-
