The Tangled Vine on UWS

XerxesAB | Jan 8, 201112:34 PM

I went to the Tangled Vine recently, about two weeks ago, and since then I have been another 3 times. The food is really quite excellent, mostly small-medium size dishes intended to be shared and a VERY extensive wine list (all from Europe).

I had the braised short ribs last night, which is one of the best braised meat dishes I have had. The Pork Montaditos which are made with crispy pork belly are delicious, the braised lamb cavatelli was excellent, fideos negros are also great. All around, a really solid place to go sit down, chat, and have some great food and wine. I noticed that most of the patrons came and did not leave for hours, chatting and drinking glass after glass. Service was pleasant. During happy hour, which is from 5-7PM they offer a few different glasses of wine for $5-6. I do believe that they also have a deal on bottles of wine at the time but I'm not sure.

Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a nice romantic meal or a fun night out with a small group.
