We went for the first time to this Mexican restaurant on Airline in Houston. Big disappointment. Supposed to be famous (is famous) for red snapper on a plank with shrimp. All my friends rave about it, even the ones with usually great taste in food.
Not very good. Fish too salty (they sprinkle a pepper/paprika or somkething salt on there for cooking and it's nothing great. They are very proud of this family recipe, however). Fish too dry. Fish too spicy, and I love very spicy food but this was just hot. Shrimp dry, greasy, overcooked.
Now the beer with the hot sauce? That was wierd. Glad I tried it, never plan to try it again. It was hot as hell and a good way to ruin a beer (although they lacked any interesting beers anyway).
Also not cheap. Especially on a dumpy strip on Airline Drive.
