Tampa's Gandy Blvd. has always been a bit player in the food game. Kojak's BBQ is there (mixed reviews). Then there's a handful of strip malls with the usual suspects. The bright spot is restaurateur BT who owns BTs (french viet) and the Noodle Shop (pho nouveau). And Indochine, next to BT, is the lower priced spread, asian from many angles.
Now some changes are in order. A chowhound mentioned quite awhile ago that Rattlefish was to be up and running, and it is now open, Chris Sherman reported in the SP Times. Also on Gandy, Rigoletto's opened awhile ago, and I've found it to be good food, good atmosphere (don't sit outside, no brainer). My neighbor says another restaurant has also opened on Gandy called the Ahi Cafe. She said it was good.
So how about some opinions as to the merits of the latest food hotspot in Tampa? Get your appetites whetted and head back with some reports. Time's a wasting, hounds. Head em up, move em down the chow line.
