TAMARINE Palo Alto Very Disappointing

Hannah | Jul 12, 200404:06 PM

On Friday My SO and I went to Tamarine for dinner.
While the food was OK the service was terrible. Our server took our order and that was pretty much the last we saw of her. She did not ask how our apps were or main and when she took my wine glass away before I could get a chance to say I wanted another glass she was gone and at that point I was just ready to leave and go on with the rest of my night.
Here is a rundown of the dishes ordered.
Salt and Pepper Calamari--very good flavor if a little oily, maybe the oil they were using was not at the right temp.
Shrimp Spring Rolls--these were just ok the pork and shrimp had good flavor, but I felt were eclipsed by the amount of lettuce in the roll. I felt like there was just way too much lettuce in the roll.
Crab and Cream Cheese Wontons with sweet chili plum sauce--these were good, nice balance of crab and cream cheese.
Lemongrass Sea Bass--The fish was fine but again more oily than I would have expected and salad the of clear cellophane noodles and mango was just OK I felt the noodle salad needed more contrasting textures
Curried Long Beans--these were almost inedible, they were so over cooked to the point of almost being mealy.
We had a side of the Hainan rice (ginger, chicken stock, and garlic) and brown rice.
On our way out I spoke with the manager about the lack of service and the beans and she was very nice she offered to buy us another round of drinks or dessert but at that point we were both just ready to leave so she handed me a card with her name on it and asked us to call her if we ever decided to return. I was really looking forward to this restaurant as there are so few options like this on the peninsula. After our experience I don't know that I would return again.
