Sub. tamarind concentrate for paste/pulp

I have a recipe that calls for 1 T tamarind paste, soaked in 1/2 c. hot water. I don't have paste, but I do have concentrate. In this case, how much do I use? Do I mix it with water to make 1/2 cup? I can't seem to find anything on substituting concentrate for paste/pulp online. Please help!
