Read with envy the thread on this board about tamales in the Bronx and Sunset Park. Both are a little out of my stomping ground. There are many tamale street vendors along Roosevelt Ave. in the 80's and 90's on the weekends. I believe they are Ecuadorian and Peruvian rather than Mexican. I've sampled and enjoyed their wares, but they all seem pretty much the same. Is anyone out there more of a tamale afficiando than I am that can steer me to a particular vendor along Roosevelt whose tamales (or anything else for that matter) stands out above the others?
