Since we're talking Indian...

My husband and I made it out to Little India yesterday. Quite a few places were closed, and we ended up at Ambala Sweets. Oh, it was so goooood!!! We had a dosa, the tomato and onion upatham (sp?), and a channa puri, plus some sweets for home. Perfect spices, perfect heat, perfect texture. The next two places on our list to try are Ambala Dhaba and Udipi Palace.

We were somewhat befuddled ordering, since I just picked things I'd seen written about, but didn't really know what anything was. I'm more used to the "chicken masala" and "saag paneer" type menu. (which I think is Northern Indian?) While we were trying to figure out if we got everything we ordered, a nice couple sitting next to us confirmed that we were indeed missing our dosa, which was corrected right away.

The couple also gave me a list of other Indian places for us to try, and I wanted to get your take on these. Anyone been to these?

Bismillah (Knott & La Palma)
Shahnawaz (Norwalk)
Noorani (Garden Grove)
