A Tale of Two McDonalds

givemecarbs | Oct 15, 2009 08:27 AM

So I went to bed last night with a craving for a sausage biscuit from McDonald's. I live in the suburbs of Philly and the morning dawned raw and damp and rainy. But I got sent out on an errand and could not resist hitting the McDonalds near the high school for my sausage biscuit. It was ten thirty five and I was told they were already on lunch. Sigh. So I weaved my way across town to the other McDonalds, hitting every possible red light. I got there at ten of eleven and ordered my sausage biscuit no problem. I was so happy I ordered hash browns too. I'm not much for eating and driving but those hash browns kept softly hissing my name. They were so good. Perfectly golden brown and crispy and not greasy at all. They were gone before I reached my destination. My sausage patty was a bit greasy but the biscuit was fluffy and buttery and on a yukky morning like this a little grease went down well. I take solace in the lack of fair weather that some food tastes even better on miserable days like today. So when does breakfast end in other parts of the country at McDonalds? Ever hit the lunch at ten thirty wall and been frustrated? I very rarely get breakfast at McDonalds but when I want it, I really want it. I've even managed to plead for them to sell me any leftover breakfast sandwich they still have, as late as ten after eleven am. But only at the second McDonalds. The first one, which was on my way, is implacable.
