A tale of two burgers

So my SF friend and I ended up at Miracle of Science in Central Sq. on Sun. and I extolled the virtues of their burger to him, as I do here all the time, and was pretty disappointed. I went with the blue cheese burger ($7.50), almost switched to cheddar which would have been the smart move to keep me from getting a burger smothered in blue cheese dressing. I certainly expected real blue cheese from MoS when I placed my order. On top of that, it was cooked way over medium and the top roll was stale, so I tore off the outer layer. The red potatoes were fine, service at the bar was okay, but it was a bit of a bummer altho he thought his was all right (or was he just being nice?).

Had to go to Braintree on Mon. where the only eating option is the Hilltop and figured I'd compare burgers. The waitress told me that if I wanted pink, to order med. well but I think I should have gone with medium, won't blame the overdoneness on the kitchen. It was pretty tasty, a large 10oz hard to bite burger with nicely melted swiss cheese. $5.95 also brought you cole slaw (is there a rule that cole slaw must be served in a tiny plastic container?) and lame steak fries, but the burger was decent and the price was right.

I'll give MoS another shot but may need to find a new fave burger place.
