working in the northern part of FiDi again, when my wife is not preparing dinner, I pick up pork buns at mei li wah for the kids and choose a spot for a quick dinner. Decided to try taiwan pork chop house at 3 doyers, ordered pork chop over lo mein noodles. The pork chop was perfectly fried, lo mein noodles were boiled to a nice, firm texture and served with minced pork and pickled mustard greens.
the noodles were good but a little bland so after a couple of bites I decided to add chili oil. Upon opening the jar, I was greeted with the blackest chili oil I'd ever seen so, proceeding with caution, I added about 1/8 of a teaspoon and worked the oil into the noodles. Turned out to be the perfect amount, it woke the dish up without overpowering the noodles and veggies.
My dinner was $6.25 and I was barely able to finish the noodles. The table next to me was eating fried chicken leg over rice, looked pretty darn good. I'll definitely be back. btw, it's cash only.
