O-Taisho, a new yakitori place

Eric Eto | Aug 29, 2003 10:05 AM

How do these things happen? I know I was in the east village along the St Marks strip a few times in the past couple weeks, but never saw evidence of this place until last night. A new restaurant called O-Taisho opened up 2 weeks ago, I assume, as an offshoot of Yakitori Taisho a few doors away. The menus are similar, but O-Taisho seems like a more efficient operation, and perhaps it's me, but things just look more appetizing here than they did at Yakitori Taisho. I've been off of Yakitori Taisho for a while, since I feel I can get better yakitori elsewhere. The yakitori was good, but nothing really out of the ordinary. But what really caught my eye was the tonkotsu ramen. I'll likely get back here to further judge the overall quality. It's a good addition to the St Marks strip.
