Tagine mini-review

LAchowhound | Apr 18, 2009 12:29 PM

We had another fantastic dinner at Tagine on Thursday night. This place is such a gem! It's perfect for dinner with friends or a date. Very cozy, upholstered banquettes with pillows. Our server was Younes, who was especially warm and charming. Tagine is co-owned by Ryan Gosling and chef Ben (formerly at The Water Grill). There's no way to explain how delicious every course was. Each dish was more mouth-watering than the one before. The chef came out to greet us at the end of the meal. I wrote a previous review last year and this one now because each time I visit Tagine I am transported far away from life's problems - no worries exist. It's an oasis and I want to share it with everyone. They are open for lunch but there is an office building being built next door (at the corner of Wilshire and Robertson) so it's noisy during the day right now. Evening is perfect - lovely and quiet. Plenty of street parking. The address is 132 N. Robertson (just north of Wilshire) in Beverly Hills. Phone - 310.360.7535. Website -

We had the Tasting Menu:

On the table: Olives, hummus, pita bread

Salad - Romaine, feta, tomatoes, red onion, olives with sesame-honey vinaigrette

Grilled Lamb Chops (2) with greens and couscous

White Fish with fresh asparagus, potato, and carrots

Chicken with saffron sauce, preserved lemon and vermicelli-like noodles

Bastilla - filo dough stuffed with chicken, couscous and vegies & dusted with powdered sugar

Shrimp with roasted cauliflower in a light harissa sauce

Dessert - Baklava and fresh strawberries

Mint tea

House white wine

132 N Robertson Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211
