Tagine Comparisons? Pressure cooker?

Moroccan Dutch Ovens Pressure Cookers Tagines

I love the look of the Moroccan tagine(tajine) but I have no experience with them.

Aside from the gorgeous shape (not a small consideration :) ), what is it like to cook with them? Can I achieve the same results with a Dutch Oven or Pressure Cooker?

Can anyone share experience(s)?

Bubble bursting time. From what I have heard, Moroccan restaurants cook their food in ordinary cookware. The tagines are used for serving. The original use for the tagine was to cook a single family meal in the neighborhood communal oven. Cook your food as you wish and get a beautiful serving tagine.

If you watch the Morocco episode of David Chang’s new Netflix series, when he’s invited to someone’s home for a traditional meal, the tagine (stew) is cooked in a pressure cooker and then transferred to a tagine (vessel) for serving. So, yep.
