Hounds,
I see a lot of references to everyones top mexican joints, taquerias, cantinas, whatever your fancy. I feel the need to give props to the taco trucks. I have never seen one in the city (blame it on the parking problem?) but they find regular spots in most burbs. These are a hounds bounty. Mucho bang for your dinero.
One of the best place to find these tortilla roach coaches is Soscol Ave in Napa. You will find most of them between Lincoln Ave. and Third St. They don't have permanent addresses, but you can find a half dozen or so on this strip. They pop up around lunchtime and some do business after midnight on the weekends. I've tried them all, Yolandas, Taco Loco, Michuachan, but my favorite is Las Playitas.
Anyone else clued in to their local treasures? Post your answers so the rest the hounds can find them. For the rest of you, give one a try.
New York and Chicago have made an institution out of their hot dog carts, Caly taco trucks should be no different.
Chow (Ciao)
