On the corner of George Mason and Columbia Pike, at least for the warm weather months, a terrific one-two punch has become a welcome sight: A taco truck serving the area's best beef taco and a granita stand serving shaved iced with up to three tropical flavors and a thick dollop of warm tamarind sauce on top. $3 for the granitas.
The beef in the taco was plentiful, thinly sliced, well seasoned, crispy, tender, juicy and served piping hot. It comes freshly sauteed with onion and jalapeno and a wedge of lime. On the side are small containers of chopped tomato and hot sauce. for $2. I'll try the tongue next time.
One of the best combinations for summer eating.
