A couple of months ago I started seeing a taco truck parked late at night on the corner of 30th street and 30th avenue, in Astoria. I hadn't tried it until a couple of nights ago and, I am pleased to say, it was quite tasty. One night I had a taco al pastor and the bits of pork were flavorful, the sauce hot, and the mixture of cilantro and onion just perfect. The next night I had a tongue taco and it was pretty good too. The truck is operated by a couple and they told me that they used to have a smaller taco-cart that they parked during the day on 30th street in front of that park, by the bank. The really good news about the taco-truck, though, is that it's there from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. and they plan to continue all thru winter. At last, there is going to be some variety to my night-time diet of souvlakis from the cart by the train station.
