I love this place and have never seen it mentioned here. Has anyone else been?
It is just a small building on Live Oak east of Santa Anita with two outside tables (you walk up to one of two windows and place your order). It has been there forever - maybe since the 50's? Definitely since the 60's - my friends' parents used to go when they were in high school.
They have deep fried burritos (bean/cheese - my fave, beef/bean, green chili (ground beef/green chilis/jalapenos), amongst a couple of others), tostadas, tacos, a taco burger, taquitos w/guac, burgers, fries, etc. The best part is the salsa they offer in the tiny plastic cups. Very runny (they make it themselves) but works so well with their offerings that I sometimes just drink some before I take a bite so I don't spill all over myself!. The owner once told me that it makes an awesome bloody mary - I have no reason to doubt him.
